Many teachers complete training but hesitate to step fully into the classroom with confidence. Instead of repeating a full teacher training or plunging into a 300-hour programme without practical experience, this immersion is designed to bridge that gap, helping you teach with clarity, composure, and presence. You’ll move beyond theory into applied practice with support, feedback, and mentorship in a welcoming environment held by ālaya wellbeing, formerly Himalaya Yoga Valley.

Training in Goa offers the opportunity to step fully into learning, away from daily demands and familiar routines. At ālaya wellbeing, formerly known as Himalaya Yoga Valley, our teaching is shaped by over two decades of lived experience and long-term faculty continuity, guided by clarity, responsibility, and care rather than trend or speed.
The residential format allows learning to deepen naturally through consistent practice, mentorship, and reflection. Teaching is led by dedicated subject specialists, each working within their area of expertise, creating a focused and supportive cohort. Graduates leave with greater confidence, adaptability, and presence in real teaching settings, supported by ongoing mentorship and continued study pathways long after the immersion concludes.

Set in the quiet hills of North Goa, just minutes from Mandrem and Arambol beaches, our retreat centre offers a space designed for focus and ease. Practice unfolds in a sunlit shala surrounded by nature, with days beginning to birdsong and stillness. Between sessions, there is time to rest by the pool, share nourishing meals, or simply breathe.
Accommodation is spacious and cared for, creating a sense of safety and support throughout the immersion. Evenings invite reflection, gentle connection, or a short journey to the sea to watch the sun set and unwind.

The Goa Teaching Immersion supports both certification completion and continuing professional development through ālaya wellbeing. For students completing Module A online, the immersion fulfils the in-person practicum requirements toward a 200-hour teacher certification. Graduates from other schools receive 100 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD), supporting ongoing learning and professional recognition.
